Welcome, party people! If you love a good drinking game, you’re going to flip for this one. It’s a hilarious twist on the classic block-stacking game, only this time, every block comes with a surprise rule that turns up the fun (and possibly the volume).
The best part? This game works with any beverage, boozy or booze-free, so everyone at the table can join in, no matter their drink of choice.
A Fun Twist on a Classic Game Night Favorite
Let’s be real. The pre-made versions of these stacking games with rules can get a little repetitive. That’s why we’ve created our own DIY version, a hybrid of the chaos you’d find in games like King’s Cup or Ring of Fire, all cleverly mashed into a teetering tower of fun.
So whether you’re sipping cocktails, sparkling water, or soda, this game is guaranteed to spice up your next gathering.
Friendly reminder: Please drink responsibly. It’s just as fun to play with soft drinks, and you’ll thank yourself in the morning.
What You’ll Need for your Drunken Tower
You’ll need your own set of stacking blocks, any generic brand or version will do! If you don’t already have one, a quick online search will show heaps of options.
A standard tower has 54 blocks, so we’ve whipped up 54 fun, cheeky, and sometimes downright outrageous rules to match.
How to Set Up Your Drinking Game
There are three easy ways to prep your set:
Option 1:
Number each block from 1 to 54 with a marker. Print our rule list and use it as a reference during the game, when someone pulls block #17, they look up and follow rule #17.
Option 2:
Write the rule or just the title directly on each block. Keep a full version of the rule list nearby to read out when needed.
Option 3:
Grab our ready-made printable! Cut out the rules, stick one on each block using clear tape (cover the whole thing to keep the game smooth), and you’re good to go.
How to Play
- Get a shared cup (optional): Place it in the center of the table. Some rules will tell players to pour their drink into the shared cup, this is inspired by classic party games, but totally optional.
- Build your tower: The person who stacked the blocks goes first. Play then moves to the left.
- Take turns: On your turn, remove one block from anywhere below the top level. Follow the rule written on the block, then place it on top of the tower.
- One block per turn: Use only one hand to remove a block (you can switch hands between turns if you like). Complete one full row of three blocks before starting a new level.
- Keep playing until… crash! Whoever knocks down the tower drinks from the shared cup, or gets a hilarious consequence of your choosing.
And that’s it! Stack, sip, and let the chaos unfold.
